On 2.1.1.12 there is still no proper (default and easy) way to edit text files. Jolla definitely must make simple default text editor.

Note that the Documents app already uses Calligra's plugin framework for doc/docx/etc filetypes and there are plugins for txt, mobi, etc available. So, its only a matter of packing those and shipping...
